In this scenario, anonymity becomes a desireable state. If nobody's trying to control you, being independent doesn't get labeled as rebellious or as a problem. You maintain your freedom and your own voice.
July 18, 2014: "No one can maintain Toxic Niceness for and entire lifetime. Eventually it's going to end in the nastiest of ways: either you'll melt into a pool of sugar or you'll explode in a torrent of invectives.
With all the stress in my sister's life, her rose-colored glasses have had to come off. Life isn't aways nice and people aren't aways civilized. She has been using the f-bomb in conversation to me and I have to wonder if she uses it with others. At least, I am back in her good graces for being supportive and allowing her to vent.

Watching guys I dated casually worry about getting involved was always amusing. I think the funniest was the guy who replied with "I hadn't defined our relationship as dating" when I told him I expected to spend some actual time with whomever I dated.
