I chose and booked our luau at the Kilohana Plantation for the 4th of July well in advance of our actual trip. I also arranged for us to be picked up and returned to our resort because I thought we might have a few drinks with our dinner and wouldn’t want to worry about a designated driver. I also booked the premier seating and the train ride. We were rushed and only managed one drink each. The food was okay but not outstanding. I had a good time regardless and enjoyed the unique show provided by the Luau Kalamaku.
We had some wonderful dinners while on Kauai. We generally opted for fresh fish entrees and local desserts. Our favorite was marlin, but we also enjoyed mahimahi, ono, opah and onaga. We spent our last evening on the island at the Beach House where we drank the best Mai Tais on Kauai and ate a wonderful dinner as we watched the sunset.
