I’ve most enjoyed the shopping in Old Koloa, but we haven’t hit Poipu shops or Poipu Shopping Village yet. We did drive toward Port Allen and go shopping in Kapaa. My sister really wanted to stop at Kela’s Glass Gallery and the crafts were breathtaking. So were most of the prices. We didn’t purchase, but we did admire extravagantly.
In another small shop, I found some of the best clay art jewelry I’ve seen since my original purchases in Augusta, Georgia. The detail of the Hawaiian flowers is simply awesome and I came away with two new pairs of earrings. We found an ABC store and tried more shave ice. I’ve really enjoyed some of our lazier days and just spending time together. Unfortunately, we don’t do that often enough and we have to familiarize ourselves with one another’s habits. That can lead to friction, but we all do our best to defuse it … so far, so good!
Since my sister is the more physically fit of us, she took the rental car and drove out to a location for a guided hike. She came back muddy and happy with some great pictures. Mom and I spent a lazy morning and a couple of hours at the resort pool which is unique. It’s easy entry makes it available to all ages and its design is very welcoming and attractive.
